Scientific limitations involve the development of more advanced grid control technologies, such as real-time grid monitoring systems, demand response technologies, and dynamic grid modeling techniques that can handle rapid fluctuations and maintain frequency and voltage stability.

High-Temp Superconductors
Current conductors used in power transmission suffer from resistive losses, particularly over long distances. High-temperature superconductors (HTS) offer a potential solution to minimize these losses, but the technology is still in its early stages with current cooling methods being inefficient or insufficient for high-power applications.
